PCT – Day 30 – Riders On The Storm

DATE:  June 4

START:  Junction to VVR

FINISH:  Just past junction to Duck Lake

DISTANCE:  17.5 miles (plus 7.5 off-trail to and from VVR) / 25 miles total

TOTAL DISTANCE:  896 miles (km)

Cruisey day, during which I resupplied, did some laundry and ate multiple breakfasts at Vermillion Valley Resort. Big storm rolled through in the afternoon; called it an early one just after Duck Lake junction upon spotting a relatively sheltered stand of Pines. Turned out to be a good decision, as the elements continued to rage through most of the evening, and I awoke the following morning to find my tarp surrounded by a blanket of snow.
