Technical Glitches and Inadvertent Walks Down Memory Lane

Dear Readers,

As some of you may have noticed, in recent weeks we’ve been doing some upgrades for “The Hiking Life” website. Unfortunately, earlier today some legacy posts (four in total) from the early 2010s were inadvertently resent as new articles. The issue has now been resolved. Please accept my apologies for any inconvenience.

I hope everyone reading this is staying safe and healthy during these crazy times. A new post – from this decade no less – should be up on the website in the coming days. Here’s a quick preview:

“Cabin fever is setting in. You’re eating your morning cereal out of a reconstituted Talenti Ice Cream Jar and during the day you’re wearing trail running shoes – with gaiters – around the house. At night you’re brushing your teeth with a travel-sized toothbrush and using an inflated Platypus bladder as a pillow. Perhaps most concerningly, your significant other has made it clear that you can either “remove all that backpacking shit from the living room floor” or else relocate for the duration of the pandemic into a single-wall shelter in the back garden. You’re in two minds about whether or not to take them up on their ultimatum.”

Cheers,

Cam

  1. I thought you’d hauled them out to help fill in time during the Covid-19 lockdown many of us are experiencing!

  2. I suspect people missed the outcome of the ultimatum in the above photo. Very good Swami. Keep up the great work.

  3. Absolutely no worries! This “inadvertent” emails have been a joy to receive in these crazy stressful COVID times. I read all of them again!

So appreciate all that you do and share!

  4. Totally fine by me.

To quote Bob Ross: “We don’t make mistakes, just happy little accidents.”

    Keep them coming! 😉

  5. I saw the links and thought “nice look forward to reading this” then I thought “kind of blassy planning, announcing, and hiking a Mexican traverse in the middle of a pandemic” then I saw the dates. It was a rollercoaster and it certainly helped pass the time. Any way, suppose I’ll take another nap…
